This course introduces the fundamentals of Data Structures and Algorithms.

BIT3102 Business Inteligence

This course introduces the concept of business intelligence and explores its’ various major components such as Data Warehousing, Business Analytics and Data Visualisation, Data Mining and Business Performance Management in detail. The course also looks at the process, contents and context of managerial decision making and how the implementation of Business Intelligence can help in improving management decision-support effectiveness and contribute to the delivery of business value and competitiveness in modern organizations. The organization issues affecting the success of Business Intelligence and possible solutions are also explored.

BIT3233 Incident Response and Disaster Recovery

This course presents methods to identify vulnerabilities and take appropriate countermeasures to prevent, mitigate, and manage information failure risks for an organization. The course provides a foundation in disaster recovery principles, addressing concepts such as incident response; disaster recovery planning; risk assessment; policies and procedures; roles and relationships of various members of an organization; implementation of the plan; testing and rehearsal of the plan; and actually recovering from a disaster to insure business continuity.

BIT1105 Internet Computing

This course takes an introductory learning about the World Wide Web technologies with programming languages like HTML, CSS coding, Java Script, PHP and XML . Students will learn to build web pages using dynamic content, as they divulge in the theories of web design techniques to develop interactive user interfaces with an aesthetic appeal, and a friendly user experience.

Course Learning Outcomes

CLO1:      Describe the principles for effective web page design and web programming.

CLO2:      Design and develop interactive and presentable web pages and after learning various web multimedia methods and techniques. 

CLO3:      Distinguish between program static and dynamic web interfaces/pages utilizing scripting languages like JavaScript and PHPs.
