BME2104 Electrical Machines

Electrical Machines primarily covers the basic functionality and the role of electrical machines in their typical applications. The effort of applying coordinate transforms is justified by obtaining a more intuitive, concise and easy-to-use model.

The objective of this course is to familiarize the students with the basics principles of working, characteristics and applications of different Electrical Machines to mechatronics systems.

At the end of this course,  student will be able to:

CLO1: Students are able to apply fundamental knowledge to solve concepts of transformer, electrical motors, generators and machines complex problems.

CLO2: Students are able to investigate and solve transformer, electrical motor, generators and machine, complex engineering problems using combination of research methods and scientific skills.

CLO3: Students are able to identify and investigate transformer and electrical machines complex problem.

CLO4: Students are able to utilize appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering tools to solve transformer and electrical machines complex problems.

BME3103 Design of Machine Elements

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

1.   Apply the importance of materials selection in the design of machine element. (PLO1)

2.   Analyze design of machine element using failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) (PLO2)

3.   Design the basic components in machine element. (PLO3)

4.   Investigate and interpret calculation for machine elements*(PLO4)

5.   Select and apply appropriate modern tools in machine elements (PLO5)

6.   Develop effective functions as individual and members of the team in design*(PLO9)

7.   Communicate effectively with proper design documentation (PLO10)

BEC1102 Engineering Mathematics 1

The course aims to enable students to acquire sufficient understanding and knowledge of basic methods of linear algebra and calculus in engineering
