BME3128 POWER ELECTRONICS AND DRIVES

In this course, the student will be able to provide a detailed understanding of all aspects of the selection, sizing and operation of modern electrical drive systems; this will be achieved by consideration of the individual sub-system including power semiconductors, electronic power converters and associated electric motors, mechanical power transmission, speed and velocity transducers, and controllers.

BME2105 – SENSOR AND ACTUATOR

BME2105 – SENSOR AND ACTUATOR is one of the courses for those undertaking the Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering with Honours. This course is about the use of compressed air and fluid power in industrial environment. Nearly all industrial processes require objects to be moved, manipulated or subjected to some sort of force. Such movements and manipulations are frequently accomplished by means of devices driven by liquids (hydraulics) or air (pneumatics), the subject of this course. The objective is to give the student a sound understanding of the principles and the basis for applying them in a variety of situations.
