BAS3113 : BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (JULY 2022)

  • This subject focuses on business intelligence – an information technology approach to data collection and data analysis to support a wide variety of management tasks, from performance evaluation to trend spotting and policy making. 
  • The analytical components and technologies used to create dashboards and scorecards, data mining methods for trend and sentiment analysis, and artificial intelligence techniques used to develop intelligent systems for decision support will be covered.

BAS3203 Database System

The subject provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop SQL commands using Microsoft Access and MySQL. Students will learn how to use the reserved words and user-defined words to write SQL statement. A database language allows user to create the database and relation structures, perform basic data management tasks, such as insertion, modification, and deletion of data from the relations, perform both simple and complex queries.The students will also learn to create forms and reports using both tools.

BAS2103 Statistics and Probability

This course provides an introduction to probability and statistics with applications. Topics include: basic probability models; combinatorics; random variables; discrete and continuous probability distributions; statistical estimation and testing; confidence intervals; and an introduction to linear regression.
