This course aims to equip students with the knowledge and information about mobile and wireless communication technologies.
DIT1331 Data Communication and Networking
The course aims to:
1. Describe data communications fundamentals, protocols, TCP/IP and networks.
2. Identify the different network components and their respective roles in a communication system.
3. Propose efficient, secure, cost effective, reliable and use appropriate technology to establish communication networks.
DIT1141 Fundamentals of Programming
This course introduce the basic and concepts of programming that serve as the fundamentals for learning higher level of programming structure.
DIT1232 Introduction to Information Systems
This course is a beginners guide to discover the principles of information systems within an organization or business through the supported use of information technology. In this course, you will learn about the components necessary for an information system to oversee business operations, develop competitive positioning strategies using business analysis tools / framework for like Porter 5 Forces , SWOT (TOWS) factor analysis in view of a systems end solution . In addition, organizational structure, management of people, data, processes and technology resources are reviewed within the sustainability practices using a case study approach. The course covers two learning parts as below,
Part (1) Information Systems for the Business Perspective - Organizational Structures, People Roles and System Strategies
Part (2) Information Systems for the Technology Perspective - IT Infrastructure and systems for fluid, automated transactions, in the decision making process to manage knowledge for the Community of Practices (CoPs) within a business ecosystem.
