This course covers breeding principles, methods to distinguish differences among species in breeding, practical problems in breeding and how to characterize the best specimen for breeding purposes by conventional and non conventional methods. The course also covers plant and animal selection, mating systems and breeding implementation programmes. The areas covered in this course will provide a broad platform in understanding and acquiring knowlege related to plant and animal breeding.
