FOUNDATION IN FINANCIAL PLANNING
This course offers the basic understanding of financial planning that includes budgeting, savings and tax planning for individuals. It also gives basic framework investment options for individuals.
The course aims to provide students with the training and knowledge to:
1. Provide the student with an introduction to the various concepts associated with personal finance.
2. Be geared toward practical knowledge that is necessary for financial decision making in everyday life.
3. Understand personal financial planning and management.
4. Explore important components in wealth management which include setting financial plans, career planning, money management, banking services, consumer credits, investment strategies, purchasing decisions, insurance, and retirement planning.
Upon successful completion of this element, the students should be able to:
1. Justify budgeting, savings alternatives, and tax planning as they relate to individuals (CLO1).
2. Explain the importance of financial planning and the various types of financial planning instruments available to individuals (CLO2)
3. Design a personal financial planning tools to customer (CLO3).
