BMS2043 Molecular Biology
Molecular biology deals with the central dogma events which involve nucleic acids, RNAs and proteins and how these molecules interact within the cell to promote proper growth, division, and development. This course emphasizes the molecular mechanisms of transcription, protein synthesis, regulation of gene expression and protein trafficking mechanism. This course also covers plasma membrane, cytoplasmic and nuclear receptors and their role in regulating cellular activities. In addition, common techniques and methods used in molecular biology will be covered in this course.
