| This course deals with the connection between linguistic theory and language teaching. It takes a look at first and second language acquisition with special reference to child language development. An outline of the various acquisition theories including universal hypotheses, behavioural, mentalist and interaction theories, is provided. A comparison between language acquisition and language learning is featured. Factors affecting second language learning are also examined. |
